Where Montessori and the outdoors go hand-in-hand.
Our Approach
At the heart of our program is the Montessori philosophy, a child-centered approach that believes children are naturally curious and capable. We create an environment where they can explore, make choices, work with their hands, and learn at their own pace. When children are given the freedom to discover, they build confidence, independence, and a genuine love of learning.
Our days are filled with meaningful, hands-on experiences that help children grow academically, socially, emotionally, and physically. Montessori materials encourage children to learn by doing, while giving them the time and space to practice, problem-solve, and master new skills.
In the afternoons, we build on that foundation with engaging unit studies, creative projects, science, literature, art, and plenty of opportunities to ask questions, explore new ideas, and make connections across subjects.
Some of our favorite learning happens outside, it is an essential part of who we are. Under the oak trees and just minutes from the Halifax River, children spend time gardening, caring for our chickens, climbing, digging, observing nature, and simply enjoying the outdoors. These everyday experiences spark curiosity, build resilience, and help children develop a lasting connection to the natural world.
Together, Montessori learning, creative exploration, and time in nature create a joyful, well-rounded education where children are encouraged to learn, grow, and thrive.
